Power distribution company BSES today launched a scheme for making available 2.5 lakh energy efficient fans at a discounted price to its customers.
Priced at around Rs 1,150 per fan and backed by a two-year warranty, the scheme envisages reducing the peak-hour load on the discom.
"Besides saving money for the consumer at discounted price, the scheme also has an energy saving potential of over 20 million units annually and a load reduction of around 6 MW in BSES areas, a BSES spokesperson said.
The discom had earlier distributed LED bulbs in an effort to promote energy conservation among its customers.
The fans are available at selected BSES offices, he said.
