Two persons have been booked for allegedly desecrating a religious place at Hakikat Nagar here, police said today.
A case has been registered against advocate Ramesh, who resides in front of the religious place, and Sonu, a shopkeeper under relevant sections of the IPC, following a complaint lodged by an organisation.
According to the police complaint, the two used to throw empty liquor bottles and pieces of meat in front of the holy place, and also misbehaved with the priests, Investigating Officer Balwant Singh said.
"This hurts our religious sentiments," the outfit said in its police complaint.
