Port Authority Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo says the crash occurred around 8:50 am today in the center tube. Pentangelo says the door on one bus had to be cut open. He says the injuries aren't considered life-threatening.
NJ Transit spokeswoman Lisa Torbic says a bus headed from Ridgefield rear-ended a bus out of Fairview. Motorists heading into New York City are facing delays of more than one hour.
The Lincoln Tunnel travels under the Hudson River and connects Weehawken, New Jersey, with midtown Manhattan. The Port Authority says 42 million vehicles travel through the tunnel every year.
