"Prabartak Jute Mill, where work has been suspended since April 26, will reopen on August 7," Ghatak told newspersons here.
"Maintenance work will start from August 7 at the mill at Kamarhati in North 24 Parganas district and gradually all the 2,600 workers will be taken back in work," he said.
"Wellington Jute Mill at Rishra in Hooghly district will reopen on August 10," he said after tripartite meetings with jute mill owners and workers' representatives.
Ghatak said there was temporary suspension of work at these mills owing to jute crisis, which has now been solved with ample supply of the raw material in the market.
He said out of 56 jute mills, around three or four mills were closed at present.
"I hope these will also reopen within a couple of weeks and all jute mills in the state will become operational," the minister said.
