Public Sector Undertakings such as BEL, HAL, BEML and ordnance factories are showcasing their products so that this could be a platform for MSMEs to understand the requirements of the sector and become vendors.
The expo was a follow up of the announcement by Defence Minister Nirmala Seetharaman, granting Rs 20 crore to set up a Defense Innovation Centre here and the ministry has organised the expo for the benefits of MSMEs in the region.
Inaugurating the expo, Coir Board Chairman C P Radhakrishnan said that this would help industries know more about the requirements of the defence sector and help them in the long run.
