"The incident occurred when four persons were trying to extract brass from the disposed scrap collected from the firing range of the Army in the evening, when suddenly one such object exploded," ASP (Jodhpur Rural) Narpat Singh, said.
Babu Khan (55) died on the spot whereas Noor Mohammad (26) died during treatment at the local hospital, he said.
The two others, who were injured were shifted to the hospital, police said, adding the entire area around the shop has been sealed.
But in absence of adequate precautions, accidents like these keep happening, thus killing and injuring the civilians, he added.
