Two dentists and an MBBS student were among four arrested by police for allegedly passing on answer keys to some students using sophisticated vests attached with SIM card units and bluetooth-enabled earpieces during the All India Pre-Medical and Pre-Dental Entrance Test on May 3.
The arrested accused have been identified as Bhupinder and Sanjeet, both dentists, MBBS student Ravi of Noida, and Rajesh of Gadhi Khedi village in the district.
During investigations, it came to light that the accused were working in collusion with Rohtak-based Roop Singh Dangi who had provided them with "answer keys". Dangi is on the run, police said.
Police are probing at least nine candidates with whom a deal between Rs 15-20 lakh was struck by the accused to help them "pass" the examination.
Police had received information that the accused were staying in a hotel in Panipat, but they were later arrested near here.
The students had received copies of the "answer keys" from the mobile phones of the accused, which the latter had received via WhatsApp, and it contained answers to 90 objective type questions.
The accused, who have been taken into police remand, had already sent answer keys for all 90 questions to the nine students through WhatsApp before the examination began.
Further investigations in the matter are on.
A case under relevant provisions of the law has been registered against the accused persons.
