One Kuldeep Punia, a Sub Divisional Engineer of power utilities in Sonipat district, was yesterday caught accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a Khewra resident for getting a temporary electricity connection sanctioned for his under construction warehouse, the spokesperson said.
In a separate case, Krishan Kumar, halqa patwari (area revenue official) in Jhajjar district, was caught accepting bribe of Rs 2,500 from a resident in lieu of mutation of land and change of name of the complainant's brother in revenue records.
