liquor dealer were today arrested on charges of selling liquor in violation of dry day declared by the East Singhbhum district administration in view of Durga Puja and Muharram.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted raid in the Sidgora market under Sidgora police station and recovered 13 cartoons of foreign liquor.
Two persons including a dealer were arrested, police said.
The district administration had already declared a three-day dry day during the last three days in the district in view of the Durga Puja and Muharram.
Meanwhile, immersion of Goddess Durga was taking place amidst tight security arrangement.
