2 held trying to smuggle Rs 18L demonetised notes to Nepal

Two persons have been arrested with Rs 18 lakh of demonetised currency notes from Padrauna area in Kushinagar district of the state while trying to smuggle it to Nepal to get them exchanged, police said here today.
Jamal and Parvez were arrested yesterday when they were going to Nepal with the demonetised currency to get them exchanged, a senior police official said.
There were 2,800 notes of Rs 500 denomination while 400 of Rs 1,000 denomination, they said, adding that further probe is on.
