2 held with illegal firearms

Two persons allegedly belonging to a gang selling illegal weapons were arrested here today and five countrymade revolvers recovered from their possession in a joint operation by local police and the Uttar Pradesh Anti- Terrorist Squad.
According to Circle Officer (City) Anil Kumar Yadav, the arrested duo has been identified as Akhil and Shishupal.
Police said that Akhil was the one running the illegal operation and would use Shishupal as a courier for delivering the weapons.
The two accused were nabbed following a tip-off, police said, adding that they are being questioned for any links with terrorists.
