: Two of the three people injured in a blast in the Indian Institute of Science continued to be critical at a hospital here Friday.
A statement issued by the M S Ramaiah Memorial Hospital said Naresh Kumar and Karthik were still critical, but hemodynamically (relating to blood circulation) stable.
The suspected cylinder blast Wednesday killed a 32-year old technician of a start-up firm and injured three others when they were involved in an experiment in a laboratory.
The IISc Friday announced an exgratia of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the deceased and also said it would bear the medical expenses of the injured in excess of their insurance cover.
A team from the IISc, led by its director Anurag Kumar, visited the three injured people -- Naresh Kumar,Athulya and Karthik, at the hospital, it said.
The Director assured the relatives of the injured that the IISc would cover their medical expenses in excess of their insurance cover.
The blast had occurred in the Hypersonics and Shockwave Research laboratory of the Aerospace Department, killing Manoj and injuring the three, all employees of SuperWave Technologies Pvt Ltd, which has a tie-up with the IISc for research work.
Police, probing the case, have said the actual cause of the explosion would be known after Forensic analysis.
