At least two militants were killed and a soldier injured in an attack on a checkpost in Pakistan's restive North Waziristan tribal region today.
The militants had launched the attack on the Khar Qamar checkpost in Dattakhel Tehsil last night after which a gun battle took place for nearly half an hour.
"After midnight around 1 AM, terrorists fired rockets on a checkpost in which one soldier was injured. In retaliatory fire, two terrorists were killed," Pakistani military sources said.
An indefinite curfew was imposed on the Bannu-Miramshah Road following the incident.
Security forces are carrying out a search operation in the area.
