Police today booked two travel agents for allegedly duping a man of Rs 2 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad on work permit.
The travel agents are Sukhdev Singh of Khurala Kingra and Sukhpaul Singh of Phagwara, police said.
Police said that a case under IPC Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) was registered yesterday against the duo on a complaint of Varinder Kumar, a resident of Nakodar.
The complainant told police that the duo promised to send him to Malaysia on work permit.
The complainant alleged that he was neither sent to Malaysia nor his money was returned by the duo.
