Footballers Matthew Grimstone and Jacob Schilt of Worthing United FC football club along with their personal trainer are believed to have been on their way to play a match against Loxwood FC when they were struck by the crash yesterday.
The Hawker Hunter fighter jet, which was participating in the Shoreham Airshow near Brighton in southern England, hit several vehicles on the road.
Paying tribute to the young men, Gary Elphick, manager of rival team Worthing FC, told the Telegraph, "It's just devastating news. We're a football family on the South Coast so we're all trying to pull together. These were two great young lads who have been taken from us far too soon."
News of the men's deaths came after it appeared this morning that 24-year-old personal trainer Matt Jones was among the dead.
The tragic news was revealed by his grieving sister Becky Jones on Facebook.
The crash claimed the lives of at least seven persons and left one with with life-threatening injuries. Around 14 people were being treated for minor injuries.
Police, meanwhile, warned that the death toll in the crash may rise. Among those injured is Andy Hill, the plane's pilot, who is fighting for his life at a nearby hospital.
