2 youths killed, 2 injured in road mishap

Two youths were today killed and as many were injured when the car they were travelling in rammed into a tree in the Naranpura area here, police said.
While Akash Patel (19) and Divya Sureja (20), were killed when their car hit a tree near Amikunj Cross Road in Naranpura area, Rahul Nayar (21) and Dipali Patel (20), sustained serious injuries and their condition is said to be critical, said Sub-Inspector RK Vaniya of Naranpura police station.
Police said that Akash Patel was at the wheel of the vehicle. The accident occurred as Akash lost control of the steering and it rammed into the tree, he said.

While Akash died on the spot, Divya, who suffered multiple fractures, succumbed to her injuries at Vadilal Sarabhai Hospital here, he said.
The two injured persons are undergoing treatment, he said, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
A case under Section 304A (causing death by negligence) of IPC has been registered and inquiries are on in connection with the accident, he said.
