At least 21 people were killed and three others reported missing after floods triggered by a rainstorm hit a northwestern Chinese province, state media reported today.
Wulan county in Qinghai province was hit by a heavy rainstorm yesterday, which triggered flash floods in the valleys.
Some makeshift tents on the mountainside, which housed nearly 60 construction workers, were destroyed in the floods, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The search for three missing people is under way, it said.
The number of dead or missing from recent flooding in the northeast and southern China surged past 200.
