"Of the 216 dispensaries in the state, a total of 64 had own buildings and 22 of them will be upgraded into 10-bedded hospitals," he told reporters here.
The ministry had already allotted Rs 200 crore for the upgradation and he would hold discussions with the state government soon in Chennai to complete the formalities, Dattatreya said.
"Similarly, there is also a proposal to upgrade seven hospitals to 30-bedded hospitals," said Dattatreya.
"These hospitals are in Ranipet, Ambur, Tambaram, Kovilpatti, Rajapalayam, Dindigul and Virudhanagar and the estimates will be worked out soon," he added.
