The 226 drought-affected mandals (revenue blocks) are situated in the districts of Anantapur(59) YSR Kadapa(48), Kurnool (12), Prakasam (54), Chittoor (42) SPSR Nellore (7) and Guntur (4), according to a Government Order (GO) issued here yesterday.
During South West monsoon-2014 (1-6-2014 to 30-9-2014), the state received a rainfall of 375.7 mm as against the normal rainfall of 554.1 mm with a deficit of (-) 32 per cent, whereas rainfall received during the previous year (2013) was 514.1 mm with a deviation of -7 percent for the corresponding period, the GO said.
