27 sheep, a cow dies in fire in Kirmit village in Lahaul-Spiti

At least 27 sheep and a cow died while a woman received serious burn injuries when fire broke out in a house in Kirmit village at Udaipur area of tribal Lahaul and Spiti district.
The wooden house, with a cowshed on the ground floor, was gutted in the fire and 28 cattle were burnt alive and a woman was injured in the fire last night, Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmauri said.
He said district administration has sent Tehsildar to the affected village for relief and rescue operations, and relief would granted as per the norms, he said, adding the injured woman has been admitted to the hospital and was stated to be out of danger.
