3 arrested in connection with suicide by Preity Zinta's cousin

Three persons were arrested today in connection with alleged suicide committed by Nitin Chauhan, cousin of Bollywood actress Preity Zinta.
Police arrested in-laws of Chauhan, including Prem Singh Dulta (60), Sulochna Dulta (55) and his wife Pravin Dulta (34).
They were named by Chauhan (38) in a suicide note he left before he shot himself dead in his car yesterday.
The body was recovered when the parents did not find the deceased in his room and thought that he might have gone for a drive but some people noticed blood oozing out of the car near Sector 2 in New Shimla and informed the police.

The police and parents got the car opened only to find Chauhan dead and lying in a pool of blood.
The police registered a case of abetment to suicide under sections 306 and 34 of IPC and sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act and arrested the persons mentioned in the FIR.

The arrested persons would be produced in the court tomorrow, SP, Shimla D W Negi said, adding investigations are in progress.
Police said the victim shot himself on the head and left two suicide notes, one in his room and another in the car, accusing the in-laws of harassing him by filing false cases and not allowing him to meet his son.

The police is verifying the owner of the weapon used by him as family sources said he did not own the weapon and no member of the family had fire arms.
The weapon has been sent for forensic examination and efforts are on to trace its owner, police added.
