3 beaten up for not voting for BJP member's kin in panchayat

Three persons here were allegedly beaten up by a local BJP member "for not voting" in favour of his family member who was in fray for village panchayat polls, police said today.
The incident occurred at Kamaluddinpur village in Antu area yesterday where after the voting was completed BJP member Balwant Singh, along with his sons, entered the Dalit basti and thrashed Sri Ram (55), his son Ram Kripal (30) and one other person, they said.
According to police, Singh was allegedly infuriated with them for not voting in favour of his family member contesting the polls.
The injured have been admitted to the district hospital, police said, adding that a case has been registered and investigations were on.
