3 booked for abetting suicide of ex-secretary of housing soc

A case of abetment to suicide under section 306 of the IPC was registered against three members of a housing society from Kalyan in Thane district of Maharashtra, police said on Wednesday.

According to police, former secretary of the housing society Rajendra Sonawane (50) hanged himself after the trio accused him of indulging in corruption in the society AGM held in August this year.

The accused were identified as Sunanda Sawant, Deoraj Chavan and Sayyed Harun, police said, adding that they are yet to make any arrest.
