3 criminal booked for demanding ransom

Three murder convicts, out on bail, were today booked by the police for allegedly threating and demanding ransom from a local businessman.
Arshi Malik, a resident of Shipra Sun City society, alleged in his complaint that the three criminals had been threatening to kill him and kidnap his children if he does not pay Rs 20 lakh to him.
Malik also claimed that he had already paid Rs 12.5 lakh to the three men-- Kala alias Yunus, Mausam Pradhan and Nawab.
Earlier, Senior Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Yadav had ordered Sahibabad Police to register a case of extortion.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the criminals, police said.
