3 drug smugglers held in Punjab

Three alleged smugglers were today arrested from two different places in the district for 'smuggling' opium and 1.65 kg of the drug was recovered from them, police said.
Balwinder and Gurvinder were arrested from Ajitwal as they tried to flee away in their SUV when stopped for routine checking, while one Darshan Singh was held from a barricade at Baghapurana, they said.
The total seizure from the three accused is 1.65 kg, police said, adding that a case under the NDPS Act has been registered against them.
