Acting on a tip-off, special cell of Delhi police arrested Mohd Farid-Ul-Islam alias Farid (26), Kunja Bihari Pandey (42) and Safiq-Ul-Alam alias Safiq (26) yesterday.
"A trap was laid at vantage points of New Delhi Railway Station and Farid was apprehended from outside the station. The checking of his bag led to recovery of fake notes of face value Rs five lakh in the denomination of Rs 1,000," DCP (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said.
Accordingly, raids were conducted and his Pandey and Safiq were apprehended. Fake notes of face value Rs one lakh in denomination of Rs 1,000 was recovered from Pandey, while Rs 50,000 fake notes in denomination of Rs 500 was recovered from Safiq, police said.
