One of the accused, identified as Imran, was arrested by a Special Cell team near Karnal bypass in Mukarbad Chowk yesterday. Twelve sophisticated pistols, 10 spare magazines and 40 live cartridges brought from Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh, were seized from him, said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, DCP (Special Cell).
Following his interrogation, two more persons, identified as Naushad and Sunil, were arrested from Singhu Border today. One pistol and 10 live cartridges were seized from them, he said.
Imran admitted that he was involved in illegal supply of arms for the last three years. He sold it to criminals in Delhi-NCR, the officer claimed, adding Sunil from Haryana was involved in more than 10 criminal cases including three cases each of murder and attempt to murder.
