3 injured after slipping on Metro escalator

Three people were injured after they slipped while getting off an escalator at Kashmere Gate metro station today.
The incident took place near gate number 1 of the Kashmere Gate metro station in the evening. Three people got injured, police said.
"The incident happened when three people were getting off the escalator. One of the persons lost his balance and it so happened that because of him the other people also lost their balance and slipped. They sustained minor injuries," said a senior police officer.
There was a little bit of commotion at the station but the police officers at the spot pacified the people who had gathered at the spot, police said.

A Delhi Metro spokesperson said, "A person pressed the emergency button by mistake which brought the escalator to an abrupt halt. The people who were on the escalator were not holding the handrails which is why they slipped when the escalator stopped. The three sustained minor injuries".
