3 killed, 10 injured in rain-related mishaps in Raj

Three persons were killed and 10 others, including three minors, injured in separate rain-related incidents in Nainwa, Dablana and Hindoli areas of the district here as unseasonal rain and hailstorm lashed Rajasthan.
A house collapsed due to rain and thundershowers in Khanpura village yesterday around 7 PM, in which 45-year-old Ramlal Gurjar and his brother Ramdayal Gurjar (28) were killed on the spot, Station House Officer (SHO), Nainwa police station Subash Puniya said.
Other family members, including their sons - Mayaram (8), Chagna (4) and Sonu (3), were injured and are undergoing medical treatment at community health centre (CHC), the SHO said.
The victims were pulled out of the debris with the help of locals, Puniya said, adding the bodies would be handed over to the family members after the postmortem today.
The matter would be lodged under section 174 of CrPC. No compensation has been announced for the deceased and injured so far, he said.
Many places in the state recorded rains yesterday. Hailstorm also occurred at a few places, as a result both the day and night temperatures dipped by a few notches, according to MeT department.
Meanwhile, in another incident, Satayanarayan Keer (21), a resident of Dablana village, was allegedly killed on the spot after he was hit by lighting while he was working in field in Gothda village last evening, police said today.
The body was handed over the family members after postmortem at community health centre in Hindoli town, SHO of Dablana police station Rohit Meena said.
In a third rain-related incident, five people were injured when aluminium sheets, used as roof cover, was damaged due to thunderstorm in Laxmipura village of Nainwa police station, police said today.
Phorulal (33), Herabai (70), Sita (40), and a-year-old Archana and Krishana were injured in the incident last night and are undergoing treatment here, Patient Counsellor at CHC, Nainwa, Mukesh Sharma said.
Two other persons received injuries in Panch Ki Bawadi village after a house wall collapsed on them due to rains, police said.
The unseasonal rain and hailstorm damaged crops and agriculture produce in many parts of the desert state.
There was a heavy loss to wheat, mustard and coriander crops. At least 90 per cent wheat crops across the district have been damaged, a member of Bhartiya Kisan Sangh Shripal Goyal said.
Goyal has demanded the government to exempt the farmers from electric bills, Lagaan, Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan, and award sufficient insurance and compensation for the loss of crops to them.
