Acting on a tip-off that the three persons were found in the Mandapam coast under suspicious circumstances, police arrested Paulson, Saiesan and Baskaran.
Police said the three had been staying in different refugee camps in the state and got in touch with an agent here who assured to arrange a boat for them to return to Sri Lanka.
It was not known since when they were residing in the state, police said adding further investigations were on.
