Excise Inspector Vishnu Pratap Singh had on December 12 last year arrested the accused from near J P Sports City and recovered 7 cartons of smuggled foreign liquor.
He was booked under Excise Act and IPC and a charge sheet was filed.
Initially, the accused had claimed he was falsely implicated. Later, he confessed to liquor smuggling, a senior prosecution officer said today.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrtae Parul Panwar on Monday awarded the three months simple imprisonment to the accused under Excise Act and IPC, the officer said.
District Excise Officer Kuldeep Yadav said 352 cartons of smuggled liquor was seized from different areas in last one fortnight and 8 liquor smugglers arrested and 10 vehicles seized.
