3 more farmers die due to shock over crop loss in Raj

Three more farmers died of cardiac arrest after seeing their crops destroyed in untimely rains here, authorities said today.
Shyam Saini (45) of Bhojpura village of Kaithoon area in Kota district and Durgalal Dhobi (55) of Tokeda village died of heart attack on Wednesday after they went to see their crops which were destroyed in the unseasonal rain, police said.
Satayanarayan Sharma (32) of Cheta village of Bundi district also died of cardiac arrest on Tuesday after losing all his crops during the calamity, police said.
All the farmers were declared dead by the the hospital authorities, police said.
Meanwhile, another farmer Ramkunwar Barwa (54), whose cultivated mustard and coriander crops were also destroyed in the rains, died on Tuesday while in sleep, they said.
At least 18 farmers died in Hadouti region due to loss of crops including 9 in Bundi, 6 in Kota district and 3 in Baran district.
When asked about the exact number of farmers death in Bundi district, Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Bundi Ramjivan Meena said the numbers cannot be stated as figures are still being assessed.
Meanwhile, Kota Bundi MP Om Birla dispatched 30 quintals of food grains each for the free distribution among rain- affected farmers of Itawa and Keshoraipatan areas of Kota and Bundi districts respectively.
