Three Naxals were killed and two others surrendered after an encounter with security forces in Jharkhand today, a senior official said.
The official said the encounter took place between the Maoists and a joint squad of the CRPF and state police in the Chatarpur police station area of Palamu district early today.
"After the encounter, the bodies of three Maoists were recovered along with an AK-47 assault rifle, two self-loading rifles (SLRs) and another rifle.
"Two Naxals who were injured in the gunbattle have surrendered before the forces," he said. A search operation in the area is still on, he said.
