District and Sessions Judge Chandrashekhar Jha sentenced Harendra Uraon, Suresh Yadav and Mohammad Umar Ali to life imprisonment for gunning dowm the woman of Dalan panchayat in the district.
Harendra Uraon is an outgoing village head of Dalan panchayat.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 5000 on each of the three convicted, besides holding them guilty of possessing illegal weapon.
The three shot at Nilam Devi and her husband Jamir Lal Uraon on January 25, 2015 when they were on a motorcycle near a railway crossing at Mogra village under Dalan panchayat. She succumbed to her injuries while her husband recovered.
