Mexico's defense department says three of its personnel are dead following the crash of a military helicopter.
The chopper crashed yesterday in a rural area southeast of Mexico City near the Popocatepetl volcano. The area is known for high mountains but not for criminal activity.
Those killed were a captain, a lieutenant and a sergeant. The chopper left from the southern state of Oaxaca, where teachers' protests have blocked roads. It was headed to Mexico City airport.
