3 witnesses depose in anti-terror court in Mumbai attack case

Three prosecution witnesses deposed today before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) judge here holding the 2008-Mumbai terror attacks trial for identifying the two accused, certifying bank transactions and a JuD centre in Sindh.
Prosecution lawyers produced three witnesses and withdrew four others.
An ATC source in Islamabad said that the prosecution presented witnesses - a school teacher of one of the attackers Imran Babar, a bank official and a security guard at the JuD centre in Badin, Sindh.
The teacher from Multan district of Punjab province, some 350 kilometres from here, presented the school record of Babar, one of the 10 attackers of Mumbai carnage in November 2008.

Nine attackers were killed in the shootout with paramilitary forces while Ajmal Kasab was caught alive.
In earlier hearing, a government doctor had presented the DNA samples of Shahabuddin, said to be the father of Babar.

An Election Commission of Pakistan official had also submitted the voters' list of the Multan district, where the names of Shahabuddin and his other family members were enlisted.
Official sources said a bank officer of Multan presented Rs 81,000 transaction record made by one of the seven accused here, Younus Anjum.
The third witness was a security guard of a JuD centre in Badin, testifying details about the centre.

The defence lawyers cross-examined the witnesses.
The guard was quizzed whether there was a JuD centre or it was a farmhouse.
ATC Islamabad Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi adjourned the hearing till December 3.
LeT operations commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, Abdul Wajid, Mazhar Iqbal, Hamad Amin Sadiq, Shahid Jameel Riaz, Jamil Ahmed and Younis Anjum have been charged with planning, financing and executing the dastardly attacks in India's financial capital that left 166 people dead.
