The incident occurred this morning in Bommareddi Gudem village when Rakesh, who is the child of daily wagers, was playing near the field where his parents were working, Sub-Inspector Satyanarayana of Pulkal police station said.
He slipped into the bore well which had not been covered despite not being in use, he said.
At about 8:45 AM, the boy's mother realized that he was missing, following which the couple searched for him and found that he has fallen into the bore well, he said.
The rescue team estimated that the child is lying at a depth of 40 feet and is supplying oxygen to him through pipes, he said.
The land around the bore well is being dug to reach the boy, he added.
