"We are optimistic about creation of 30,000 jobs in the state in next the two years," IT secretary M S Padhi told reporters after attending a review meeting presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
While Infosys is all set to make its Info Valley campus operational soon, other IT majors like TCS and Wippro have decided to go for more appointments in their Bhubaneswar centres, Padhi said Mind Tree would also begin its activities within that period (in 2 years).
This apart, Padhi said certain small software companies have also expressed their interest to undertake business in the state.
"The small software companies will be
given accomodation temporarily at the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) here," Padhi said.
With at least seven departments preparing to provide 25 services to the people under Citizen Charter, the necessity of IT professionals has increased in the state. The departments which have committed to provide services include revenue and disaster management, finance, general administration, rural
development, cooperation, food and supplies and IT.
Certain districts have also been connected with the e-governance service, he said adding that the government was planning to spread the services through IT to rural areas.
