A 30-year-old man drowned in a pond at Virar near here today, a police official said.
Rakesh Khot had gone for swimming in Dongarpada talao (pond) along with a friend. He, however, drowned while swimming in the pond, the official said.
The fire brigade has recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem, he said.
