30-yr-old woman commits suicide in Phagwara

A 30-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house here, police said today.

The woman, a resident of Palahigate, was mother of four children, Investigating officer(IO) Daya Chand said, adding she took the extreme step soon after attending parents teachers meet at their school.

When she did not come out of the room till evening, her family members went inside and found her hanging from an iron grill, the officer said.

He said that the cause of suicide was not known yet.
