The government has already extended the operation of schemes for easing the water/fodder scarcity to July 31.
Across twenty districts, the rainfall has been 25 to 75 per cent.
The state cabinet today reviewed the monsoon situation in the state, the statement said.
Monsoon has arrived in Vidarbha and Marathwada regions as well, apart from Konkan and Western Maharashtra.
The districts of Nashik, Dhule, Nandurbar, Pune, Jalna, Nanded, Hingoli, Buldhana, Akola, Yavatmal, Wardha, Bhandara, and Chandrapur have recorded rainfall in the range of 0 to 25 per cent.
The water stock in the reservoirs is down to 19 per cent, against 40 per cent during this period last year. As many as 1,559 villages and 3,974 hamlets are being provided drinking water by a total of 1,731 tankers.
So far, sowing has been completed in 16 per cent of the total kharif area of 134.70 lakh hectare. As many as 2.83 lakh people have taken recourse to Employment Guarantee Scheme works.
