34-yr-old man shot dead by bike-borne assailant in Punjab

A 34-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by a motorcycle-borne assailant at Dugri Phase 1 here Thursday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Mandeep Singh, an architect by profession, they said.

At the time of the incident, Singh was supervising the construction of a new bungalow at Dugri, said Ludhiana Commissioner of Police Sukhchain Singh Gill.

The accused fired four shots at Singh, he said.

According to the police, it could be a case of personal enmity.

The police are examining the CCTV camera footage of the incident to identify the accused, Gill said.
