36 escalators to be installed at major Delhi stations

In its endeavor to provide better facilities to passengers, railways has decided to install a total 36 more escalators at different railway stations including New Delhi, Nizamuddin and Shahdara in the current fiscal.
The escalators would be installed at an estimated cost of Rs 29 crore, a railway official said.
According to the estimate, it would cost about Rs 80 lakh per escalator.
Divisional Railway Manager of Delhi Division Arun Arora said that all out efforts are being made to install these escalators and lifts during the current financial year.
Currently, 12 escalators are installed at major stations in the national capital region including New Delhi, Old Delhi, Nizamuddin and Anand Vihar station.
