"These buildings, constructed during the times of the Nizam's rule will undergo a structural audit at the earliest. The government will take help of institutes like IITs to carry out audit work. These buildings will then undergo repair work," Maharashtra Education Minister Vinod Tawde informed the Legislative Council.
He was replying to the Opposition during a calling attention motion in the Upper House.
"Posts of headmasters are currently filled through the Public Service Commission. Technical problems in filling up these posts through the Commission arise when headcount of children goes down. We will change this system and fill up these vacant posts directly," Tawde said.
"We will start filling up vacant posts from June, which is the new academic year," Tawde said.
