Police said the driver of the pick-up van lost control as it was passing by the crowded bus shelter along SH 9, 11 kms from Jhargram town, mowing down the four waiting passengers.
Three lady teachers were travelling in that reserved pick-up van.
They were seriously injured along with the driver and two by-standers and are being treated at Jhargram Sub-divisional Hospital.
The deceased, who included a couple, hailed from the locality.
