Four persons drowned in a well in Baknaur village near Ambala City Sunday evening, police said.
The deceased were identified as Kamal, Soni, Surender and Manjeet, all residents of Baknaur village, said Sub-Inspector Lachmi Chand.
Police said one of the villagers fell in the well in the evening and three others jumped in to save the first. However, none of them survived, police said.
Later police and fire brigade personnel recovered the bodies.
