The mishap took place near Dhanpura crossing on NH-30 as the minibus overturned when the driver lost control while trying to overtake another vehicle, they said.
While four persons, including a woman, died on the spot, 34 others suffered injuries, they said.
Three of the deceased have been identified as Tara Muni (45) and Munna Kumar Ram (28) and Vishwakarma Paswan (25).
The injured were admitted to the Sadar hospital.
