Four employees of power distribution company NESSCO including a former executive engineer have been arrested for allegedly stealing valuable electrical parts from a store in Balasore district, police said Saturday.
The arrest was made Friday night following investigation into a complaint by NESCO in November, 2018 about missing costly electrical parts from its store in Balasore division, Inspector In-Charge of Sahadevkhunta police station, Subhransu Nayak said.
After verifying and examining the CCTV footage and other evidence, police arrested the four, including former executive engineer of NESSCO, Balasore division, Chittaranjan Mistry, while efforts are on to nab another employee, he said.
Mistry had been placed under suspension soon after the complaint was lodged with the police.
The other three arrested employees are storekeeper Rajendra Kumar Khilar, security guard Tapan Behera and another employee Satyabrata Das (40), police said.
