The family members of Hemant Jain of Rengali camp in Attabira area were on their way to Shyam Baba temple at Bhatli to celebrate Holi when the car hit a tree at Pipalmunda, killing three occupants on the spot, a police officer said.
While Hemant Jain's wife Seema Jain (36), son Kanha Jain (5) and maid Kunti Behera (50) died on the spot, his 7-month-old daughter Paree succumbed to her injuries enroute to hospital, the officer said.
A pall of gloom descended on the village and the mourning residents stopped celebrating Holi today, a villager said.
