Judicial Magistrate Gurjit Kaur Dhillon convicted the ASIs Ajmer Singh and Bikram Singh, Head Constable Gurjant Singh and constable Sahib.
According to prosecution, the accused policemen had on July 21, 2004 detained Manjit Singh at Kot Ise Khan police station for three days and tortured him.
Manjit's wife Surjit Kaur petitioned the Women Rights Commission alleging that her husband was being illegally detained and tortured.
The Women Commission then marked the complaint to Vigilance Commission Punjab to enquire about the allegations made against the policemen.
The court after going through the evidence and arguments of both the parties found them guilty and sentenced them to three years in jail.
